Traditional and Complementary Medicine Application Center

“Traditional and complementary medicine” is the whole of knowledge, skills and practices with centuries-old history, whose medical mechanisms are sometimes unexplained under today’s conditions, based on theories, beliefs and experiences specific to different cultures, used to diagnose, cure or treat diseases, as well as to prevent diseases and maintain good health. They are methods that support and complement Western medicine.

In our country, since 2014, GETAT applications have been performed by approximately 5800 certified physicians in 1540 units with the approval of the Ministry of Health.

In our hospital, Ozone Therapy, Cupping Therapy (Cupping), Hirudotherapy (Leech) and Acupuncture applications are applied to our patients by a certified specialist physician under appropriate and hygienic conditions as complementary and supportive in specified indications.

People who will come for cupping treatment should not be very hungry and should eat something three hours before coming to the treatment. He/she should not eat anything in the last three hours, but can consume liquid food (water) except caffeinated drinks.

Animal foods generally slow down the blood circulation rate. For this reason, animal food should not be consumed at least 24 hours before the application.

After cupping, you should not eat anything, drink water or sherbet, or smoke for about two hours.

According to Islamic medicine, it is recommended that it is more appropriate to do it on odd days in the second half of the Hijri months (such as 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27), and it is not appropriate to do it on Wednesdays and Mondays. However, if cupping therapy is to be performed for the purpose of treating any ailment, it should be done as soon as possible, regardless of the season or lunar day, as it is a necessity. In this regard, only weekdays (Monday-Tuesday-Thursday) can be taken into consideration.

Hacamat should not be done once a week, once a month, once a season, in spring or autumn, or once a year. A person should have it done once in his life.
