The digestive system is a branch of science that deals with diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, bile ducts and pancreas, starting from the mouth. The gastroenterology unit deals with the diagnosis and treatment of various digestive system diseases.
In gastroenterology departments; Hepatologists also provide treatments for liver diseases, including complications of cirrhosis.
